Exploring Canada by campervan

Exploring Canada by campervan

Travelling Canada by campervan: importing a foreign vehicle, the Alaska Highway, the Rocky Mountains from Banff to Jasper, the Okanagan Valley and practical tips from our own trip.

1 articles
8.000 km travelled
2 months on the road
3/13 regions visited

Canada by campervan is the part of our trip where everything changed again: after Eurasia the van landed in North America and we had to adapt it to local standards, from the fresh/waste water fittings to third-party insurance for a vehicle that isn’t registered there.

From there a different kind of journey began: the Alaska Highway heading north from Dawson Creek, the Rocky Mountains from Banff to Jasper along the Icefields Parkway, the national parks with their booking system, the Okanagan Valley among vineyards and lakes, Vancouver and Vancouver Island facing the Pacific.

Here you’ll find all the practical guides, itineraries and stories written along the way: from what nobody tells you before shipping a campervan to North America, to tips on stopovers, fuel and water along Western Canada’s scenic roads.
