Our trip to Denmark by campervan was our first long trip after a few weekends spent around Piedmont. Some people thought we were crazy, while we had an absolute blast. We slept 29 nights for free, filling up on water and emptying the tanks with no trouble at dedicated stops found almost always along the motorway or near towns.

In both these periods it’s easier to find spots to stay overnight for free, although when we came back to Europe we found more “no parking” signs. For us it was a beautiful trip, crossing 4 regions (the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia), breathtaking views and some truly unmissable destinations! We arrived directly from France, and despite a first impression of people being less welcoming than in other Spanish areas, we found a fairly pleasant atmosphere even though it was November, and places that stayed close to our hearts. We visited Amsterdam over 2 days, with our dog and cat as travel companions, in August 2022. For our visit we got recommendations from a friend who lives near the city , discovering a few less touristy but decidedly more authentic spots. Being summer, the weather was mild, though wind and rain can always be on the cards, which is why we recommend bringing a raincoat or a poncho with you!
